Harambee Stars coach Benni McCarthy has named a 32-man provisional squad for this month’s FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers against Gambia and Gabon.
The coach, who was unveiled as Kenya’s national team head coach last week, is preparing for his first competitive matches against the Scorpions of Gambia and the Panthers of Gabon in the crucial qualification campaign.
The list includes Australia-based midfielder William Lenkupae, a promising talent who has been given his first international call-up, while young prospects Kelly Madada and Andreas Odhiambo have also been handed opportunities to prove themselves on the international stage.
Meanwhile, experienced marksman Masoud Juma returns to the squad after missing the previous international fixtures due to injury, while Spain-based midfielder Ismail Gonzalez is also back after a strong start to his club season.
France-based defender oseph Okumu retains his spot in the squad, providing a crucial presence in the backline.
Additionally, forward Mohamed Bajaber has been named in the squad by the South African tactician.
